Plagne Bellecôte

Plagne Bellecôte is at the crossroads of all the other La Plagne sites. It’s the perfect place for skiers who want to discover La Plagne’s ski area. Its resolutely modern construction was designed to make your holiday easier. There is a large shopping gallery on the ground floor of the apartment buildings, with all the services you need. The resort is just at the bottom of the ski runs and offers direct access to the slopes and the kids’ snow garden. The skating rink and the outdoor pool heated to 29° with spa are facilities that are highly appreciated.

A car-free resort

The site is designed for a holiday without constraints. Plagne Bellecôte is for pedestrians only. During the daytime, you can relax on a terrace and enjoy the view and in the evening, there are bars and restaurants inside the shopping gallery. You can even go out to dinner in slippers! You and your gang can try the Escape game with its two rooms. You have one hour to find the Chuppa Yéti or get out of the Mont Saint-Jacques Bunker. In the middle of the altitude sites, Plagne Bellecôte is connected to Belle Plagne by the Roche de Mio gondola (free access for pedestrians). A free shuttle bus service will take you to Plagne Centre in just a few minutes.

Architecture

Plagne Bellecôte was created in 1974 with the help of Michel Bezançon, La Plagne’s architect. It was designed to be the hub of La Plagne’s lift system. The building is quite narrow and rises up 10 levels. Its modern aspect makes it look a bit like a dam. It is a good example of a resort village.

Plagne Bellecôte is the perfect place for heading to La Plagne’s different sites. It offers direct access to the Roche de Mio (and La Chiaupe glacier) and has lifts going to Plagne Centre, Champagny-en-Vanoise and Montchavin les Coches with the Vanoise Express, the gateway to Peisey and Les Arcs. Fun zone enthusiasts will love being so close to the snow park, the half pipe and the fun slope.

Activities for all

Plagne Bellecôte gives pride of place to sports activities: skiing, of course, but also the Magic Pool and its spa, and an outdoor skating rink… Lovers of hiking and natural areas will love going up to Bellecôte glacier. At 3200 m altitude, fill your lungs with fresh air while admiring the spectacular view. In summer, visitors of all ages can have fun testing the bumps and raised bends of the pumptrack on bikes or scooters.

The resort has several trails for walkers or cross-country skiers. Don’t miss the detour to the sunny Dou du Praz plateau with a lovely view of the altitude villages. Les Frasses is a 12 km trail through the forest, going towards Montchavin les Coches. There are some great viewpoints of the Beaufortain region and Mont Blanc along the way. All you have to do is choose whether you go on foot, snowshoes or cross-country skis.
