In the valley of Champagny le Haut (alt: 1500m), natural waterfalls freeze over because of the intense cold. It has therefore become a favourite playground for climbers from mid-December to the beginning of March, with its “Ice Tower”, an artificial ice-climbing structure unique in Europe, that has been created in this favourable context. The fun activity is open to all.
Height of the tower: 24m
Several routes with different gradients offer a variety of relief and levels of difficulty for beginners and experienced climbers, as well as for competitions.

The ice is made by spraying water: the conditioning and maintenance are facilitated by the ideal conditions at the site, where there is little sunshine and temperatures are very cold. The ice tower has been moved into the larch trees with a view to better integration into the landscape!
To ensure everyone’s safety, there are rules regarding access to the tower that you should look at before you come.
