From 23 to 26 December 2018

This winter, La Plagne welcomes Santa Claus and he has some amazing things in store for you for an absolutely unforgettable fairy-tale experience!

What’s more, Santa won’t be alone There’ll be elves, clowns, fanfares, reindeer, and fairies too: all the magic of Christmas simply bursting to reveal itself in the company of these playful guests, along with papillotes (traditional foil-wrapped sweets) and lanterns and ... and ... snowflakes of course!

On the program this year

Four days of entertainment and festivities to enjoy and share in the unique magic of this, the most beautiful, most heart-warming time of the year.

Santa arrives on Sunday for the opening of his chalet, and his visit ends with a bang on Tuesday 25 in a fantastic fireworks display. Wednesday will enchant you too, right up to the lantern light descent!

You can check out the scheduled program below, but we’ve also got lots of surprises in store!

Sunday 23 December

Noël est magique en montagne

PLAGNE CENTRE - PLACE DU CHAUDRON

13:30 – 16:00 : Opening of Santa’s chalet, Place du Chaudron. Arrival of Santa Claus and discovering his chalet. Announcement of the program for the week. Delivery of last-minute letters from latecomers. Photo session with Santa and handing out of papillotes (traditional foil-wrapped sweets) and Christmas hats.

16:00 – 18:00 : Christmas card creation workshop.

BELLE PLAGNE

16:00 - 17:30 : Clown parade, followed by a Christmas-tree decorating contest for all the family.

PLAGNE CENTRE - PLACE PERRIERE

17:30 – 19:00 : Ice sculpture / show / elfish clown entertainment / maple lollipop tasting / giant mascots on the ice / turning on the Christmas tree lights.

Monday 24 December

11:00 – 11:30 : Clown parade.

14:00 – 14:30 : Fanfare.

13:30 – 15:30 : opening of Santa Claus’s chalet. Activities: Creative elf workshop (Christmas tree decoration). Participants receive Elfish Apprentice Diploma and hat.

15:30 – 16:00 : Fanfare.

16:00 – 18:00 : photo shoot with Santa – papillotes (traditional foil-wrapped sweets) and Christmas hats all round.

18:00 : Christmas Mass.

Tuesday 25 December

Noël est magique en montagne

Santa’s grand tour, accompanied by his sled dogs. Follow Santa over the various stages of his tour and thank him for having spoiled you so much, or join him at the end of the day with his reindeer at Plagne Centre.

PLAGNE AIME 2000

11:00 : Santa and his dogs stop by at the nursery in Aime 2000.

PLAGNE BELLECOTE

12:00 – 13:00 : Santa's reindeer distribute papillotes (traditional foil-wrapped sweets) during their flying visit to Plagne Bellecote.

13:00 : Arrival of Santa Claus on his sleigh.

BELLE PLAGNE

14:00 : Arrival of Santa Claus on the snow front and giving out of papillotes to all visitors.

PLAGNE VILLAGES

15:00 : Arrival of Santa Claus on the snow front plus papillotes for everyone.

PLAGNE 1800

16:00 : Distribution and release of flying balloons with a message to Santa Claus.

PLAGNE CENTRE - PLACE DU CHAUDRON

13:30 – 16:00 : Kid's make-up, wooden toys, and games of skill.

16:00 : Arrival of Santa Claus pulled by his dogs back to his cottage to rejoin his reindeer. Then, at 17:00, Santa sets off with a fanfare towards the slalom stadium.

17:15 : The long day closes with a torchlight descent followed by the traditional fireworks display (17:30). Mulled wine and hot chocolate.

Wednesday 26 Decembre

PLAGNE VILLAGES

11:30 – 12:30 : Santa’s reindeer pay a visit and distribute papillotes.

PLAGNE CENTRE - PLACE DU CHAUDRON

13:30 – 16:00 : Surprise entertainment!

16:00 – 18:00 : “Fairy Nawak” musical with stilt-walkers and jugglers. Grand finale with flying balloons released with messages to Santa Claus.

BELLE PLAGNE

13:30 – 14:15 : Fanfare.

PLAGNE AIME 2000

15:00 – 15:30 : Fanfare.

PLAGNE SOLEIL

16:30 – 17:30 : Santa's reindeer stop by and distribute papillotes.

PLAGNE 1800

16:00 – 17:30 : Christmas caribou tasting (red wine and strong alcohol) to warm up after a long day’s skiing or walking. Hot chestnuts, hot drinks, papillotes, caribou headbands handed out, accompanied by the fanfare.

17:15 ESF 1800 : Lantern light Descent!
