Marie Martinod, heroine of the World Half Pipe

Mountains and skiing are in her DNA... After starting her career in mogul skiing, she made her debut as an international freestyle competitor when she was 16 years old.
Marie Martinod is a well-known half-pipe skier who appears in different French and international ski films. She has also developed freestyle-specific material in collaboration with the sport’s sponsors.

In 2007, she embarked on a 6-year break in her career, from which she returned more determined than ever: chalking up a victory at the X Games in 2013, and then the place of Vice Olympic Champion in 2014.
Today, the doyenne of the circuit, Marie never ceases to impress with her perfectly mastered runs – runs that saw her pick up the top trophies in 2017: a victory at the X Games and a Crystal Globe!

Julien Lizeroux

Julien Lizeroux

Sport : Ski Alpin / Slalom
Club : Club des Sports de la Plagne.
Date of birth: 5 September 1979

Julien Lizeroux: the oldest member of the French slalom team has an exemplary career.

Lizeroux made his first appearance in the French team during the European Cup in 1997. Despite several injuries throughout his career, Julien has an impressive record: participation in the Vancouver and Sochi Olympics, medals in World Championships, successes in the World Cup... And 2016 marked this extraordinary skier’s return to the podium.

A driving force behind France's alpine skiing team in the 2000s, Julien is a determined and exemplary skier, destined to leave his mark forever among the great names of French skiing. Julien is one of the historic ambassadors of la Plagne. What’s more, he is deeply involved in the life of the resort: he maintains close links with la Plagne Sports Club, where, as head of the alpine section, he is happy to share his competition experiences.

Julien has opened a snack bar on the slopes of La Plagne and this year is organizing the resort’s first ever Super Slalom event.

Sport : Ski Freestyle / Half Pipe

Date of birth: 23 November 2001

Tess Ledeux, the young star of freestyle skiing – “Made in la Plagne”.

The athletes who make up the women's freestyle skiing elite have traditionally been in their late twenties; however, many younger female skiers, hungry for victory, are training hard, intent on changing the situation. This is the case with Tess Ledeux: already French slopestyle champion, she is following in the ski tracks of her famous cousin, Kevin Rolland, one of the best freestylers in the world.

Noted for her laid back approach and her high level of commitment – higher perhaps than that of male athletes of the same age – Tess is already playing with the big boys and girls. She shares her cousin Kevin’s competitive spirit, tenacity and ambition to reach the top.

Patience is a virtue. Too young until now, Tess is finally on the way to the World Cup, and starts 2017 with a medal for her debut performance at the X Games!

Nouria Newman

Nouria Newman

Sport : KWhitewater Kayaking
Date of birth: 09 September 1991

Nouria Newman, small in size but enormous in talent

When you ask Nouria what her best kayak memory is, she answers in a flash, "I really loved Metlako Friday. A group of us girls decided one Friday to go to Metlako," she begins. Metlako, for the uninitiated, is the name of the Indian salmon goddess. It is also the name of this 25-metre-high waterfall, the "Torrent of the Eagle", that cuts off the course of Eagle Creek. An outstanding freerider, Nouria has no hesitation about launching herself into territory that has until recently been reserved exclusively for the boys. She is also very active on social networks, where we invite you to follow her exploits, all of them completely crazy!

Apart from extreme kayak sessions, Nouria is also an outstanding competitor in the slalom and has proved as much by winning several medals in the World Championships.

Antoine ADELISSE

Sport : Freestyle Skiing / Slopestyle
Club : Club des Sports de la Plagne. Coach : Grégory Guenet
Date of birth: 10 June 1996

Antoine was eleven years old when he made his freestyle skiing debut. Always seeking out new playing fields, he abandoned the more traditional disciplines in order to devote himself to freestyle and develop his own style on the snowparks.
In 2014, just 16 years old, the young Plagnard landed himself a place at the Winter Olympics in Sochi – the first games to include Slopestyle Skiing.
A serious knee injury kept Antoine away from the snowparks in the winter of 2016. In 2017, back in business and more determined than ever, he received his first invitation to compete at the famous X Games in Aspen, where he reaffirmed his standing as one of the best riders in the world.
With his motivation and encouraging results in many international competitions, Antoine is the number 1 Frenchman in slopestyle skiing today.

Date of birth: 9 Mai 1987

Loïc Costerg, a great man with a tender heart.

Loïc Costerg, pilot of the "blue missile".

Loïc started bobsleighing at the fairly late age of 21, with no intention of competing.
After only 2 years of practicing for recreation, his club, the CBLS de la Plagne, offered him the opportunity to hone his skills on foreign runs and to start entering international competitions. Loïc soon took his place in the field, and joined the French team, on the track with his blue bob.
In 2014, the French National Olympic and Sports Committee approved his team to represent the country in the Winter Olympics in Sochi, in the two-man and four-man events.

After a series of encouraging results during the 2016 season, the athlete trained hard to perfect his piloting skills. This result was obtained by the accumulation of descents, which can only be made in winter, and serious physical preparation, which during the summer months, is revealed in his imposing stature.

Date of birth: 26 June 1990

Maxence Muzaton, The Tranquil Force

Maxence has been racing for 3 years on the World Cup circuit and never ceases to progress. Long-time friend of Brice Roger's, the two of them form the young guard of the French speed team. Discreet and reserved, "Muzat" is nonetheless very talented, as the 2017 season has shown since he achieved his first World Cup podium with 2nd place in the famous super-combined at Wengen in Switzerland. Gifted from an early age, Maxence became Junior World Champion in Chamonix in 2010. More than just a young hopeful, Maxence is clearly one of the French athletes in the great white circus we will be talking about in the years to come.

Brice Roger

Sport : Alpine Skiing / Speed
Club : Club des Sports de la Plagne
Date of birth: 09 August 1990

Brice Roger, a great guy who shrinks from nothing.

Brice is a force of nature who uses laughter and good humour as his source of energy.
The skier progresses through his career with ever more excitement.
He achieved his first podium in March 2015, in front of his fans in Méribel, in the World Cup finals, with a 3rd place in the Super G.
Knee injuries have repeatedly forced him to cut short his season.

For 2017, despite very good training and intermediate times, he has failed realise his ambition of a place on the podium. Nevertheless, he put in a good performance in the downhill at the World Championships at St. Moritz, finishing in the top ten.
His best performance of the season will remain 9th place in the downhill at Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

With less than one year until the Winter Olympics, Brice, like his companion Maxence Muzaton, is a contender to be followed closely.
